Human Draw-In

Human Draw-In: A Live Art Event Benefitting Brown Street Gallery and the Napa Nest Egg Fund

Saturday, June 27, 6:00pm-10:00pm
Brown Street Gallery

In the spirit of the be-in, sit-in, bed-in, love-in (you get the idea), the Brown Street Gallery and Napa Nest host the first ever human draw-in. To gather the tribes in support of alternative art in the Napa Valley, over 60 artists have volunteered to draw live and simultaneously for three one-hour shifts.

The evening will also include live music by Five Cent Coffee and friends. Tasty snacks and beverages provided. As the drawings are completed they will be hung on the walls and available for purchase for $50 each.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Brown Street Gallery, an art-focused day program of Napa Valley Support Services (NVSS) which provides services for adults with developmental disabilities; and The Nest Egg grant awarded annually to local artists to support their work and living expenses (created by Napa Nest and managed by the Arts Council of Napa Valley).

The Human Draw-In promises to be an action-packed spectacle you won't want to miss! Tickets are available at Brown Street Gallery, Mon-Fri, 9:00am to 1:00pm; at Napa Nest, Thu-Sun, 10:00am to 5:00pm; or at the door the night of the event.

Community Planting Day

Tuesday, May 6 (Prep Day) & Saturday, May 10, 9am-4pm

Hopefully you have already heard about our plans to turn the Nest's front yard into a Community Garden. This will be a place you can come hang out, pick a few veggie, or buy a tabletop succulent garden. This is a place to share with our friends and neighbors.

We have plans to begin landscaping next week, and we have the help of Home Depot and green cherry to get the work done. But we are realizing WE NEED YOU TOO. Not only on the Community Planting Day (May 10) but also on our prep day, Tuesday May 6, from 9am to 4pm. There is a picket fence that needs painting, new gravel to be laid, pots to be replanted, and so on, and so on.

So if you would like to become part of this fun project, and like to garden and/or paint, please come to the nest on Tuesday May 6, AND Saturday May 10. Enjoy a free snack and beverages and get a little dirty!

You will be recognized on our garden plaque for your contributions. Hope to see you there, Ann & Norma.
